Avoid reckless behaviour during Easter, says Lungu

By KETRA KALUNGA

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has warned against reckless behaviour as the country celebrates Easter.

Mr Lungu has urged Zambian to uphold the sacredness of Easter by restraining from immoral acts such as violence and alcohol abuse among others.

He said the Easter holiday was the time for Zambia as a Christian nation to seek God’s forgiveness through prayer and worship.

President Lungu said the sacred period offers an opportunity for the nation to restore its relationship with God and his Son, Jesus Christ.

“As a nation, we need to reflect on the goodness of our father God who allowed Jesus Christ to die on the cross for us to receive salvation,

“We should continue to seek the face of God by repenting and asking forgiveness for whatever sins we may have committed,” Me Lungu said.

And President Lungu has urged families to remain united in prayer as doing so would culminate in national unity.

He is optimistic that Zambians would during this sacred period exhibit unity and would continue to do so especially as the August 12 general elections approach.

“I;m hopeful that before, during, and after elections, we will continue treating each other as brothers and sisters,” President Lungu said.
