PF reject Kaziya now eyes Matero as an independent MP

By PETER SICHALI

IT is not true that I am re-contesting my seat on the UPND ticket, Matero Member of Parliament Lloyd Kaziya has said.

Mr Kaziya said he would contest the Matero seat as an independent.

He said it was unfortunate that his political enemies had continued to spread lies to deliberately mislead his supporters.

“Contrary to media reports that I have applied to re-contest the Matero seat on UPND ticket, I am running as an independent,” Mr Kaziya said.

Mr Kaziya said he would give details of his decision to run as an independent and not on the PF ticket.

“Wait for dissolution of Parliament next month then, I will give details of my decision to run as an independent,” Mr Kaziya said.

Mr Kaziya, who was fired as Water and Sanitation minister, fell out of favour when he indicated early this year that he would ensure the ruling PF lost elections.

Reports have emerged that Mr Kaziya was among the candidates aspiring for the Matero seat on the UPND ticket.
