POLICE SEARCHING FOR HATEMBOS

By AARON CHIYANZO

POLICE are still looking for Pheluna Hatembo and her brother Milton who are witnesses in the case where Mr Hakainde Hichilema is alleged to have fraudulently acquired farm number 1924 in Kalomo.

The police also say they are still holding four suspects, Ackson Sejani, Fines Malambo, Javern Simooloka and Vincent Lilanda in connection with the abduction of the two witnesses and were awaiting court appearance.

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Danny Mwale, said reports that the two were being held for their own safety were not true.

Mr Mwale said the police were closely following leads which would assist in the location of the two siblings.

He said assertions that police know the whereabouts of Pheluna and Milton were not true and should be treated with utmost disregard.

Recently, FDD President Edith Nawakwi stated that the Hatembo siblings were being held to prevent them challenging the alleged fraudulent acquisition of the 2, 000-hectare farm by Mr Hichilema.

Ms Nawakwi said the abduction was about making sure that the filing in of presidential  nominations for the August 12 elections was incident free for the UPND president.
