THE Press Association of Zambia (PAZA) has challenged media practitioners to take keen interest in understanding policy challenges especially those associated with business.
PAZA president Andrew Sakala, said it was important that media practitioners familiarised themselves with the recently enacted laws in the telecommunication and technology sectors as they started talking about them.
Mr Sakala was speaking when he officiated at the MTN Zambia Northern Media Region Media Club in Kitwe yesterday. “Gather the courage to do what is right and report on the impact of the telecommunication sector in the country’s economy and social development. Dissemination of information regarding telecommunication and businesses needs to be strengthened and supported in all honesty,” he said.
Mr Sakala said the telecommunication sector was important because it helps to communicate and conduct research easily. And speaking earlier, MTN Zambia Northern Region General Manager John Muyawala said the mobile network provider would continue providing its customers with innovative services especially in the Covid-19 period.
Mr Muyawala said the mobile service provider had employed over 17, 000 merchants and 50, 000 agents across the country covering urban and rural areas.
