THERE will not be any adoptions on MMD ticket until all matters active in court are fully resolved, MMD senior member Geoffrey Mulenga has said.
He also called on members to ignore Dr Nevers Mumba’s call for applications to be considered for adoptions
Mr Mulenga told the Daily Nation in an interview that party members should be wary of Dr Mumba’s call for applications to be adopted onNew Hope MMD ticket.
His comment comes in the wake of Dr Mumba’s call to the members of the public to apply for adoption on the New Hope MMD ticket.
“First and foremost we want to express our anger and displeasure at the level of desperation with which Dr Mumba wants to allegedly earn a living from unsuspecting members of the public.
“There will not be any adoptions on MMD ticket until all matters active in court are fully resolved, and Dr Mumba knows that from deep down his heart. So what Dr Mumba is trying to do is simply attempting to collect money by false pretences,” he charged.
He said it was outrageous for Dr Mumba to collect money from unsuspecting members of the public when he was fully aware that matters surrounding the party were still in court.
Mr Mulenga said the MMD faction has written to the Electoral commission of Zambia not to entertain any election related documents or payments before court processes were exhausted.
“We have actually written to all relevant authorities concerning these matters. Our legal team has also communicated to the Electoral Commission of Zambia,” he said.
Efforts to get Dr Mumba for a comment proved futile by press time.
