By KALOBWE BWALYA

WE will not allow any political supporters to disrupt the peace in the nation during and after election, Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja has warned.

Mr Kanganja however appealed to the general public not to hesitate to report anyone to any nearest police station if attacked or intimidated.

He warned that anyone that would be found breaking the law with impunity would not be spare.

He said that he has been receiving reports that political supporters and some disgruntled people from  society had been disrupting peace.

Mr Kanganja said it was the work of police to ensure that every citizen was protected from being attacked.

He said the police command would ensure that enough security manpower was deployed to curb any criminal activities that may take place.

Meanwhile, Mr Kanganja said he was aware of criminal gangs that have been formed in some parts of the city including Kanyama Township.

He said police will not tolerate such lawlessness to continue, but ensure that people’s lives remained protected.

He further said police will continue conducting night patrols meant to arrest criminals.
