ARREST CADRES INSULTING PRESIDENT LUNGU, POLICE URGED

Government has directed the Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja to arrest UPND presidential spokesperson Mubita Nawa and a UPND cadre for defamation of the President.

Transport and Communications Minister  Mutotwe Kafwaya says demeaning the Head of State in such a manner should not be condoned.

This is in relation to a  video circulating on social media, a UPND cadre is seeing insulting the Head of State in  the company of Mr Nawa.

Mr Kafwaya says Mr Kanganja must ensure that these people are brought to book immediately.

In an exclusive interview, Mr Kafwaya says with the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act, the law has sufficient provisions to deal with such crimes.

The  minister says the law further provides for admission of electronic evidence into the courts of law making it sufficient to deal with such issues throughout the entire process. “Let me also appeal to HH to stop teaching his cadres insults.

The insulting lecture that he gave in Lukanshya is now bearing very bad fruits,” he says.

“I think that HH must now own up and indicate to the nation that his tutorials in Lukanshya were terrible resulting in what we are seeing,” he said.
