3 PF COUNCILLORS IN MUFUMBWE GO THROUGH UNOPPOSED

By JACKSON MAPAPAYI
THREE Patriotic Front (PF) councillors in Mufumbwe have gone through unopposed.

The three wards in which the ruling party has grabbed seats are Lalafuta, Kalengwa and Kashima West.

UPND candidates failed to file their nominations because they did not meet the requirements.

In Tunvwanganai and Kyawama wards in Solwezi Central, the UPND almost failed to file after two candidates appeared at the same time with adoption certificates.

It took the District Electoral officer, Bornwell Luanga, to control the situation.

Meanwhile, PF North Western Province chairperson Jackson Kungo has described the situation as the downfall of UPND in the region.

“That is why I have always rubbished the claims by the UPND that this is their stronghold,” Mr Kungo said.

He stated that if North Western was a UPND stronghold, the party candodates were not going to fail to file their nomination papers.

Mr Kungo said that all PF local government candidates in the province had filed their nominations.
