WE DIDN’T INFLUENCE CANDIDATES’ ADOPTIONS, SAYS CHIEF KAPUTA

By NOEL IYOMBWA

SENIOR Chief Kaputa has dismissed reports that some traditional leaders influenced the adoption of candidates in different political parties during the just-ended adoption period.

Chief Kaputa said it was unfortunate that some rejected candidates were spreading lies and accusing some traditional leaders of influencing the adoption process.

He said that it was not possible for a traditional leader to influence the selection of candidates because the process goes through stages, starting at constituency level and ending at the national level where a candidate was chosen.

He said as much as traditional leaders were stakeholders in the governance system, they do not have a hand in the running of any political party.

Chief Kaputa advised unsuccessful aspirants to accept the outcome of the process and prepare for the future.
