LUONDE SHOULD BE THE LAST PERSON TO TELL US TO KEEP QUIET

Dear Editor

ALLOW me to specifically respond to Ex-Anglican priest Richard Luonde who has asked me to keep quiet on the matter relating to President Edgar Lungu’s eligibility and related matters.

First of all, Luonde must be told that he has no right morally and otherwise to shut me up on this important issue of national interest.

In the story published by The Mast, Luonde is saying I should learn to keep quiet on certain issues.

Why does Luonde want me quiet when I have been given the mandate by the Patriotic Front to defend it from malicious and politically frustrated individuals like him who always insult the party and President Lungu?

So Luonde expects as to keep quiet for his malicious voice to monopolise so that he could have a field day of issuing weird and insensitive claims he puts up in newspapers?

As a senior member of the PF, a chairman of Lusaka Province, Luonde should know that we will defend the party and President Lungu from frustrated and bitter individuals like him.

We know Luonde is one of the cartel members who has been on a campaign to discredit President Lungu and to try by all means to block him from contesting the forthcoming general elections.

We are happy that their evil plans have been stopped by the Constitutional Court that has ruled that President Lungu was eligible to contest the elections.

Luonde and company must be ashamed of themselves and he should know that we will be here to defend President Lungu and the PF from disgruntled people like him.

We are happy that Zambians are able to read between the lines and for a long time now, they don’t take Luonde seriously because he keeps on jumping from one party to another with no ideological and principled political standing.

It is Luonde who lacks moral audacity and should keep quiet.

Luonde must first pull himself together, organise his personal life after leaving the pulpit instead of jumping from one party to another.

Within a short period, Luonde has moved in so many different political parties and people don’t trust him. He was in PF, went to Rainbow Party, Socialist Party, NDC and now with the UPND.

How can such a person be trusted? What does he stand for? He has no authority to tell us to keep quiet on matters that affect the nation. He has no moral standing to talk about.

We urge Zambians to ignore frustrated politicians like Luonde who is just trying to be an opportunist.

KENNEDY KAMBA,

PF Lusaka Province
chairman.
