‘AUTO’ ONE STEP TO LIFTING THE PFL TITLE

By MICHAEL MIYOBA

LUSAKA Automotive Futsal Academy moved close to retaining the Premier Futsal League PFL title after edging Monze George 6-3 in a tightly contested match one of the PFL finals played on Saturday at the Automotive Indoor Futsal Arena in Lusaka.

Monze George who eliminated Kabwe K-Line to reach the finals put up another jaw dropping performance by holding Automotive to a 2-2 draw in the first stanza.

However, Automotive came back strong and dominated the second half to triumph 6-3 to increase their chances of defending the futsal league.

And despite losing the first final play off, Monze George impressed PFL chairman Tarak Mehta.

Mehta noted that he was happy with the strides made by the PFL to develop futsal in Zambia.

Meanwhile, in the National Division One Futsal League playoff, Pioneer Avengers beat BS Stars to redeem their hopes of winning promotion to the Premier Futsal League.

Avengers who lost game one of the National Division One final play 8-6, triumphed 6-3 in the second final play off to send the qualifiers to the wire.

The winner in the final division one play off will join Young Zanaco who won Promotion to the PFL after winning the Division One National Futsal League.
