WIND OF CHANGE IS BLOWING – UPND

By ANDREW MUKOMA

THERE is a wind of change and revolution in Zambia, United Party for National Development (UPND) has said.

The UPND insisted that it was high time that the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) accepted that the atmosphere had changed in favour of the opposition.

Southern Province Information and Publicity Secretary, Neto Halwabala, said in Livingstone yesterday that the banning of public rallies was only working to the opposition’s advantage.

He said this was because the PF feared that the revolution would be more visible in huge opposition rallies.

“It is high time the Patriotic Front accepted that the Zambian people are tired and want change for a better Zambia

“As UPND Alliance in Southern province, we have continued to interact with our voters, the major stakeholders on issue based campaign as law requires and under strict adherence to covid-19 protocols,” he said.

Mr Halwabala charged that President Lungu’s directive to ban public rallies was an indication that the PF was afraid of the revolution.

“We are enjoying voter to voter contact which is quite effective and cheap because we are getting direct feedback from the electorates. And public rallies will also be added advantage,” he said.

He said that the ruling party’s desperation to remain in power was an embarrassment a potential to create threat on national security.

“UPND Alliance under the leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema and his running mate Mutale Nalumango remain resolute to unite and rebuild Zambia together with every citizen as such no one should lose hope,” he said.
