UPND president Hakainde Hichilema is not fit to govern because he doesn’t understand government operations and is fond of grabbing land, says Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) president Edith Nawakwi.
Speaking during a press briefing at the FDD secretariat in Lusaka yesterday, Ms. Nawakwi observed that Mr. Hichilema was so power hungry yet he has never held any government or political office.
“His friend (President Lungu) has been MP, Minister and President, he is a trained person. Now you take my brother he has never been councilor all he has run are PENSION funds, and not very well,” she reiterated.
Ms. Nawakwi urged Zambians not to experiment with governance but move with President Lungu’s development trajectory.
“His friend is building bridges, his friend is building hospitals, how is he going to fix hospitals which are new?” Ms Nawakwi questioned Mr. Hichilema referring to his common campaign message (fixing).
She also commended President Lungu for adopting Prof. Nkandu Luo as his running mate. The FDD has endorsed President Lungu as a preferred candidate in the August 12 polls.
She said Mr Hichilema does not deserve to take over the office of the President because he has proved to be wasteful as evidenced when he was allowed to be in charge of privatising national assert.
She has also directed her people to go into the field to campaign for President Lungu’s team for continuity. –SMARTEAGLES.
