ZAMBIAN AVIATION STUDENT DIES IN INDIA

New Delhi, Thursday (June 10, 2021)

A Zambian pursuing aviation studies has died in India two days after being notified of his father’s death in Zambia.

The next of kin has since been informed.

Zambia’s High Commissioner to India Judith Kapijimpanga identified the deceased as Cheyo Keith Musukwa, a former student at Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Punjab State, India.

Mrs. Kapijimpanga who has regretted the untimely demise of Mr. Musukwa said he died at Johal Hospital on 8th June 2021 around 16: 00 hours Indian time.

She explained that Mr. Musukwa reportedly fell off from his apartment floor two days after being informed about the demise of his father in Zambia.

The High Commissioner said the deceased was rushed to hospital where he was put on a ventilator but unfortunately died a few hours later.

She added that the Mission was consulting the relevant higher authorities in Zambia and the family to the deceased regarding transportation of the remains of Mr. Musukwa.

Mrs. Kapijimpanga said the Mission was awaiting a comprehensive report from the law enforcement agencies in India.
