With 55 days to go before Zambia goes to the polls, political parties participating in the general elections have intensified the campaigns.
In Solwezi East constituency, four candidates are vying for the parliamentary seat namely; Richard Taima on PF ticket, Alex Katakwe on UPND while Peter Kapamba and Ruth Kitambo are independent candidates respectively.
And during his campaign trail in Mulonga and Kangwena wards, Mr Taima pledged to address the challenges being faced by the people in the constituency.
Mr Taima told the electorates in the two wards that the area has lagged behind because of voting for leaders that do not feel for the people.
He said for the past ten years , the people of Solwezi East constituency have nothing to point at in terms of development initiated by the past Members of Parliament.
“Now, let me assure you that once you vote for me and all the councilors who are standing on PF including President Edgar Lungu, all the challenges you facing will be addressed,” said Mr Taima.
He said already despite not having a Member of Parliament, President Lungu has demonstrated that he is a leader for all Zambians.
