SUNDAY CHANDA ROASTS ‘TRIBAL’ UPND

By SIMON MUNTEMBA

THE politics of tribe and regionalism as practiced by the UPND are by design rather than default, says Patriotic Front parliamentary candidate for Kanchibiya Constituency Sunday Chanda.

Mr Chanda said the kind of politics UPND is practising was a threat to both Zambia’s democracy and national sustainable development.

His was reacting to a statement by a UPND senior official that there wapps no need for UPND president, Hakainde Hichilema, to campaign in Southern Province because the “people in the region will vote for their own.”
“The genes of their politics is the product of the seed of arrogance conceived in the womb of bitterness and malice, bringing forth shady characters who fall in a category the Scriptures describe: whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame,” Mr Chanda said.

He said unlike the UPND leadership, the ruling PF’s political thought was peo- ple-centred because politics could positively or negatively impact Zambia’s democratic institutions and development
