PF WARNS AGAINST ILLEGAL LAND SALE

By ROGERS KALERO
THOSE who will be elected as councillors on the Patriotic Front (PF) should desist from illegal allocation of land and misappropriating empowerment funds for the women and youths, PF narional chairman Samuel Mukupa has warned.

He said said councilors were representatives of people at grassroot level and should ensure that their activities were aimed at helping the people in various communities.

Mr Mukupa was speaking at Kalulushi Secondary School hall when President Edgar Lungu met party leaders in the district.

“I am happy to meet you the party structures and the parliamentary and local government candidates. I would like to shed a this point that once you are elected as councilors, please don’t engage in the illegal allocation of land and misappropriating empowerment funds for the vulnerable

“Government has introduced initiatives like the empowerment funds to help the vulnerable especially in the midst of the Covid -19 and so help your people access these funds and emphasise to them that they should put them to good use,” Mr Mukupa said.

Mr Mukupa also urged the parliamentary candidates to be humble and respectful to people even after being ejected as Members of Parliament (MPs)

He said some MPs were humble while looking for votes had then became arrogant after being elected as MPs

The parliamentary candidates at thethe meeting included Kwacha constituency candidate Joe Malanji, Kalulushi’s Kampamba Mulenga,  Richard Musukwa for Chililabombwe.

Others who attended the meeting were Copperbelt presidential campaign team chairman Frank Ngambi and his vice Mbachi Nkwazi.
