PAY EX-BP EMPLOYEES, MWILA URGES HICHILEMA

By SIMON MUNTEMBA

HAKAINDE Hichilema should pay the former BP workers whose pension benefits are held by Saturnia Pension Fund, PF Secretary General Davies Mwila has said.

“Let HH be truthful in his campaign messages, desist from tribal tendencies and pay former BP employees their terminal benefits,” Mr Mwila said.

Mr Mwila has also urged Zambians to give President Edgar Lungu a resounding victory in next month’s general elections, saying the PF has laid a solid foundation for a peaceful and prosperous Zambia.

He said Zambians should re-elect President Lungu because the PF has delivered on all of its 2011 election promises, resulting in a Zambia where no one is left behind.

He said this yesterday at Lusaka’s Mulungushi International Conference Centre during the launch of the PF virtual rally.

The SG said true to its pro-poor policies, the PF had improved workers’ conditions of service.

“We are here to request Zambians to give President Lungu a resounding victory,” Mr Mwila said.

Mr Mwila said under the PF administration, teachers had attained personal wealth, morale among civil servants was high and other workers had more disposable income due to lower taxes.

He said the PF had expanded sectors such as health, education and transport, making it easier for people to conduct business and make more money.

Other speakers included Canisius Banda who lamented about his encounter with tribalism in the UPND, Mr Godfrey Bwalya Mwamba who urged every Zambian to vote for President Lungu for continued development.

Mr Chishimba Kambwili explained that prices of goods had risen not just in Zambia and were even higher in some neighbouring countries.

Mr Raphael Nakachinda spoke of how his father was attacked because of his son who is Tonga did not support the UPND.
