NO HOMOSEXUALS HERE, SAYS LUNGU

By AARON CHIYANZO in Kapiri Mposhi

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has expressed displeasure that some politicians are preaching homosexuality as they campaign for the August 12 election and has called on the church to question and counsel such leaders.

President Lungu said Zambian was a Christian Nation, and would forever remain with that status hence such immoral talk should not be tolerated.

He said this during a meeting with the Kapiri Mposhi Pastors Fellowship at Kapiri Day Secondary School yesterday.

President Lungu said opposition political leaders were at liberty to make friendship with the church but that the clergy should use the friendship to convert politicians who were going astray.

And Bishop Japhet Musoni who spoke on behalf of the clergy dispelled claims that the church in Kapiri Mposhi had endorsed an opposition leader.

Bishop Musoni also assured President Lungu that there was no wind of change in the country and victory in the coming election was guaranteed.
