‘MORE MONEY IN POCKET’ A REALITY, SAYS PF OFFICIAL

By AARON CHIYANZO

THE numerous growth programmes being implemented by Government aimed at lifting citizens out of poverty are part of the fulfilment of the ‘more money in your pockets’ promise, a PF official Lemmy Bwalya has said.

Mr Bwalya said the debt swap and several other empowerment programmes being rolled out would ensure that Zambians have more money in their pockets.

He said in an interview that no one had been left out as government was ensuring that livelihoods were made easier for everyone.

“In promoting and expediting the diversification programs, PF has empowered over one million farmers with farming input support programs (FISP) to be wined after three years before supporting the other a million.

“Government has also stretched its helping hands to civil servants through debt swap arrangement that is going to save many from the snares of impoverishment,” Mr Bwalya said.

Mr Bwalya said it would be ridiculous to suggest that opposition parties could win next month’s elections.

He said even opposition parties believing that they would form Government amidst robust and unprecedented development, were daydreaming.

“Zambia is one of the countries in the region that has committed itself to safe guard the lives of its citizenry during this trying moment of economic recession,” Mr Bwalya said.

Mr Bwalya said time had come for Zambians to make a decision on who should lead them in the next five years, adding it was important for everyone to do a self-introspection before rushing to vote.

He however warned that changing government had a lot of repercussions.
