ZNS GETS K3.1M MAIZE TO MILL

THE Zambia National Services (ZNS) has received a K3, 135,000 shot in the arm from Government for the procurement of maize feed stock.

The procurement of maize feed stock from the Zambia National Service (ZNS) is part of the preparation for the commissioning of the industrial milling plant under the Presidential milling plant initiative in Monze.

Ministry of Defence Permanent Secretary Dr Felix Phiri was on hand to deliver the cheque after he toured the facility.

Dr Phiri assured the nation that government would remain resolute in actively involving the defence wings in implementing developmental programs in all the corners of the country.

“We assure the Zambian people that my Ministry will continue to rise to the challenge of making a significant contribution in assisting the nation become food secure,” he said.

He commended and thanked the contractors for their high levels of professionalism and the pace they had moved at in executing the project.

Government is expected to construct 13 milling plants under the Presidential Milling Plants Initiative which will be located in Kaoma, Monze, Mazabuka, Chipata, Mpika, Solwezi, Mumbwa, Kapiri Mposhi, Luanshya, Kalulushi, Mansa, Chongwe and Kasama in Northern Province.

Dr Phiri said that they were expecting to start test runs next week and said that he was confident that ZNS would deliver.
