ECL WILL GET MORE VOTES IN NORTHWEST – KUNGO

By JACKSON MAPAPAYI

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu is poised to get more votes in the North-Western Province in this year’s election, says PF provincial chairperson Jackson Kungo.

Mr Kungo said this was because the United Party for National Development (UPND) has no campaign message and that it is under pressure.

He stated that the people in the region were resolved to vote for the PF because despite voting for the UPND in 2016, their elected representatives failed to take development to the area.

“The people have now realised that it’s the PF and President Lungu that are capable of developing the province, and that is why they have resolved to vote for the ruling party,” he said.

Mr Kungo said that the party and all its candidates in all the 12 constituencies were receiving overwhelming support from the grassroots.

“Am confident and sure that come August President Lungu will get maximum votes in North western province,” he said.

He said the PF was targeting to get at least 10 seats out of 12 and that people were tired to vote for the opposition.

Mr Kungo said the province was no longer a stronghold for the UPND stating that that was why the party was under pressure.

He also rubbished claims by the UPND that there was a wind of change in the country.

He said there was no wind of change because the people still have hope and believe that it is only President Lungu who will serve this country diligently.
