HATEMBOS’ PROLONGED ABDUCTION WORRIES NAWAKWI

By NOEL IYOMBWA

THE whereabouts of the Hatembo siblings, Pheluna and Milton, remain a mystery because the people behind their disappearance want to release them once they win elections, Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) leader Edith Nawakwi has said.

In an interview in Lusaka, Ms Nawakwi alleged that an opposition leader who is harbouring the two family members indicated that he was only ready to release them in the unlikely event that he won the August elections.

Ms Nawakwi wondered what will happen to the family after the August elections because the opposition party would not win the elections.

“This opposition leader has become very violent such that he indicated that he is only ready to release when he wins elections but it is clear he is not winning the elections.

So now the question is what will happen to them,” she said.

Ms Nawakwi said that she has been in touch with the family members and that they were worried as they did not know the whereabouts of their relatives. She said that the family was wondering what the police were doing over the whereabouts of their relatives.

Pheluna and Milton Hatembo had been missing for months and it was alleged that they were abducted.
