POLICE IN KITWE DETAIN SHAKAFUSWA AFTER A FEATURED ON A RADIO PROGRAMME

Police in Kitwe this morning detained former Katuba member of Parliament Jonas Shakafuswa shortly after he featured on a Radio Programme on Radio Icengelo.

Confirming the development to the Daily Nation in an interview, Shakafuswa said police followed him to the station and intercepted him at the station’s entrance as he was about to leave.

He said however that police had treated him with respect so far and that he was waiting for further guidance on how police would proceed in his case.
” I am currently detained at River Side Police Station. I don’t know why police is holding me because I have not yet been charged,” said Shakafuswa who is also former deputy finance minister in the MMD government.
“All I know is what I said is what I said on radio, as a Zambian who has a democratic right to do so. I am not UPND. I am just a Zambian with a right and to express my views on what is happening in the country.”
