PF PLEDGES TRANSPARENCY AT KALOMO COUNCIL

By ANDREW MUKOMA

RULING Patriotic Front (PF) aspiring candidate for Kalomo Town Council Chairperson Oscar Ng’andu has promised to run a transparent local authority once voted into office.

Mr Ng’andu said the previous leadership in the local authority had not been transparent in its dealings particularly on land administration,

He observed that the community has not had an opportunity to question the local authority on many issues but during his tenure of office, the community would be fully engaged.

Mr Ng’andu said that the biggest mistake the people of Kalomo district had been making was to vote on party lines and not on credibility by those vying for public office.

He told the Daily Nation that, given an opportunity as Council Chairperson, he would change in the running of the local authority.

Mr Ng’andu assured residents to remain transparent in order to reduce the likelihood of corruption at the local authority.

The PF Council aspiring candidate noted that a transparent leadership would allow members of the public to easily monitor public office holders as information barriers would be eliminated

Mr Ng’andu said it was the right of every resident of Kalomo to know about how resources are spent at the local authority.
