KAMBWILI WARNS AKAFUMBA

…LEAVE ME ALONE

By KETRA KALUNGA

STOP making noise and dragging my name into your mess as I am a Patriotic Front (PF) member and not National Democratic Congress (NDC), says Chishimba Kambwili. Mr Kambwili advised the Joseph Akafumba led NDC faction to leave him out of their squabbles.

The faction is quoted in the media suggesting that there was no room for reconciliation with Mr Kambwili. NDC national coordinator, Joseph Kasonde, cautioned Mr. Kambwili against speaking ill of Mr. Akafumba because he did his best to serve the party.

But Mr Kambwili said in an interview that the Akafumba group was jittery because they were not the legitimate owner of the NDC. He said, unlike the Akafumba group, the true NDC team led by Saboi Imboela was not panicking because it was legitimately constituted.

Mr Kambwili said he has no intentions of going back to the NDC because he is a proud member of the PF. “Why are they dragging my name in the NDC, I am not NDC, I am PF, they are making noise because they know they are not the owners of the party,” he said. He urged Mr Akafumba’s led function to focus on governing the country now that his group, which is part of the UPND alliance, is in government. And Ms. Imboela said in an interview that Mr Akafumba and his group were just playing to the gallery because Mr Kambwili has made it clear that he would remain in PF.
