PF IN MUSHINDANO CALLS FOR UNITY

By JACKSON MAPAPAYI

LOSING Patriotic Front (PF) Mushindamo council chairperson candidate Precious Masaba has called on all PF members to unite and soldier on. Mr Masaba said in an interview the finger-pointing which had been going on would not help the party. “It is water under the bridge, we have lost power and the only way out is to reorganise ourselves ahead of the 2026 general election,” Mr Masaba said.

Mr Masaba, who was also a member of the mobilisation committee in Mushindamo, said there were over 1.5 million Zambians who still believe in the aspirations of the former ruling party across the country. “Therefore, I am requesting all PF members especially here in North western province to regroup. Probably, we should even start with a post-mortem, then we chart the way forward,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mr Masaba thanked the PF central committee for ratifying the former Member of Parliament for Kabwata Given Lubinda as vice president of the PF. He said Mr Lubinda was a mature and principled politician with vast experience in governance issues.  He said the party needed leaders that were calm and collected if it was to bounce back to power in 2026. “I therefore wish to congratulate Hon Lubinda on his appointment and also the central committee for their decision,” he said. He commended former President Edgar Lungu for handing over power peacefully stating that it is a true mark of leadership
