OUT of 1, 200 teachers who have been recruited, 347 of them are persons living with disabilities who met the qualifications, Teaching Service Commission (TSC) chairperson Stanley Mhango has disclosed. Mr Mhango said the recruitment process went through human resource management committees in all the districts. He said that the TSC revised the service conditions of 1973 to allow a decentralised recruitment process in all the parts of the country.
Mr Mhango explained that the recruitment exercise met the criteria as it was done in a transparent and dignified manner. He said the names of the 1, 200 teachers who have been recruited will be announced today . “The Teaching Service Commission will be announcing the names for teachers today and that also includes 347 persons with disabilities who met the qualifications.
Mr Mhango appealed to the successful teachers to take the job seriously and warned that no one should choose where to be posted. He said there was need for teachers to be responsible and ensure that learners were benefitting from the class lessons.
