THERE shall be no overpricing of projects in the new regime, President Hakainde Hichilema warned newly appointed ministers yesterday.
President Hichilema urged ministers to serve the people diligently all the time.
He said he did not expect any minister or controlling officer to sign an exorbitant contract and overpricing the purchase of goods in his administration.
Mr Hichilema said this yesterday at State House when he swore in 16 ministers and Mr Alfred Chipoya as senior private secretary, State House.
The President said his administration would buy goods and construct roads at the right price, unlike what happened in the past.
He said he would not only make sure that the cost of contracts or projects were right but also ensure quality of work done and goods bought were delivered on time.
He appointed and swore in Mr Ambrose Lufuma as Minister of Defence, Jack Mwiimbu as minister of Home Affairs, Stanley Kakubo as Foreign Affairs minister and Mr Peter Chibwe as Minister of Energy.
Other ministers sworn in were Mike Mposha for Water Development and Sanitation, Ms Sylvia Masebo for Health, Douglas Siakalima – Education, Doreen Mwamba – Community Development, Brenda Tambatamba – Social Security and Labour.
Elisha Matamba as Copperbelt Province Minister, Cornelius Mweetwa – South Minister , Elijah Muchima – Lands & Natural Resources, Frank Tayali – Transport and Logistics, Mulambo Haimbe – Justice, Charles Milupi – Infrastructure, Felix Mutati – Technology and Science.
President Hichilema said he would finish announcing the cabinet and provincial ministers today.
President Hichilema is today expected to swear in Gary Nkombo as Minister of Local Government, Rodney Sikumba as Minister Of Tourism and Arts, Elias Mubanga as Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises, Chushi Kasanda as Minister Of Information And Media and Collins Nzovu as Minister of Green Economy And Environment.
And Mokozo Chikote is expected to be sworn in as Minister of Livestock and Fisheries, Paul Chanda Kabuswe as Minister of Mines and Minerals, Mtolo Phiri as Minister of Agriculture, Chipoka Mulenga as Minister of Commerce and Trade and Elvis Nkandu as Minister of Youth and Sport.
Others are Elisha Matambo as Minister for Copperbelt Province, Kapelwa Mbangweta as Minister for Western Province, Henry Sikazwe as Minister for Muchinga Province and Derrick Chilundika as Minister for Luapula Province
Leonard Mbao is expected to be sworn in as Minister for Northern Province and Peter Phiri as Minister for Eastern Province
