K250, 000 rolls in for Sarago International motor rally

THE Zambia Motor Sport Association (ZMSA) has so far raised K250, 000 towards of the K650, 000 needed for this month’s Sarago Zambia International.
And Sarago Motors has been unveiled as the headline sponsor for the event slated for September 24-26 to be held at the Rephidim Farm after pumping in K175, 000 towards the hosting of the event.
Pembe Milling Company has injected K50, 000 while Black Smith has put in K25, 000 in the competition.
SARAGO General Manager Victor Kabwiku said in addition to the K175, 000 his company has handed over three vehicles out of the four pledged to the ZMSA – Land Rover Defender, Ford pick-up and Toyota Hilux – towards logistics for the event.
Kabwiku said they are committed to the growth of motor sport hence their decision to come on board first with their sponsorship of Lusaka Motorsport rally and now the international competition.
He added that SARAGO’s aim to improve the standards to international level so that Zambia could be rated highly on the international scene.
And Blacksmith proprietor Mujo Simakaloyi announced a return of Muna Singh Junior to the sport under his team so as to beef up Team Zambia squad in the competition.
Meanwhile, ZMSA president Sam Chingambu has assured that the event would go on come what may.
Chingambu has also thanked all the sponsors that have come on board to partner with the association.
