PF HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH K65M SEIZED CASH, SAYS LUBINDA

By SIMON MUNTEMBA

INSINUATION that some PF senior officials are involved in Ms Faith Musonda’s dealings are just false innuendoes aimed at tarnishing the image of the Patriotic Front (PF), its vice president Given Lubinda has said.

Police last weekend seized over K65 million and US$57, 000 cash purportedly belonging to Ms Musonda who is a journalist and communications practitioner, sending the country into frenzied debate on social media and beyond.

The seizure of the stash found in 30 travelling bags in Lusaka’s New Kasama residential area raised speculations with others linking her to some senior PF officials.

However, Mr Lubinda said they had nothing to do with Ms Musonda and claims that she was linked to some PF senior officials were not true.

Mr Lubinda said as a party, they would not waste their time responding to baseless claims on individuals believed to be associated with the former ruling party.

“So we in the PF are not going to get involved in such matters of individuals aligned to the party. That is a matter to do with an individual citizen, so let the police find her so that she explains her source of money,” Mr Lubinda said.
