THE Workers Compensation Fund Control Board (WCFCB) had over 19,723 beneficiaries at the close of 2017, head communication and customer services, Maybin Nkholomba has disclosed.

Mr. Nkholomba said the beneficiaries were receiving their funds promptly using different payment platforms adding that the organisation was working towards increasing the payment platforms.

He announced that WCFCB had signed a three year Memorandum of Understanding with ZANACO for the sole purpose of paying benefices through their Xapit platform.

In a media statement made available to the Daily Nation, Mr Nkholomba said the beneficiaries would access their funds through their Xapit cards which had been seen to be a faster and quicker payment solution.

“The Workers Compensation Fund Control Board has signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding with ZANACO for the sole purpose of paying benefices through their Xapit platform,” he said.

He explained that in view of this development WCFCB branch managers had been advised to contact Zanaco branch managers to facilitate registration of beneficiaries to the Xapit payment platform.

He further said the board was pursuing the use of Zanaco express agents for locations where the bank had no branch representation or ATM machines.

Mr Nkholomba stated that the organisation chose to work with Zanaco because of its presence in all the 10 provinces of the country.

“By signing the MoU with Zanaco which has presence in the 10 provinces and 74 districts of Zambia we hope to make the payments solutions easy for beneficiaries who are spread across the country,” he said.
