NGWERERE Ward 19 councillor, Adrian Banda, has donated waste bins to Garden police post, Garden health post, Ngwerere school and Simon Kapwepwe school in his ward.

Mr Banda said the waste bins were meant to keep the environment clean by stopping people from throwing litter carelessly and make use of the bins.

He said there was a tendency among members of the community, schools, police and other public places of throwing litter carelessly.

“Throwing of litter carelessly in the community can cause many diseases and is a health hazard,” he said.

He said this when he presented one waste bin at Ngwerere School, one at Garden police post, one at Garden health post and one at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe school.

Mr Banda donated the four bins to his ward to help promote cleanliness and were presented in the presence of the Ward Development Committees.

He said his office was committed to making sure that cleanliness was maintained and that people lived in an environment to be proud of.

He urged all members of the community to utilize the bins and desist from throwing litter recklessly.

“Stop blaming Government even for simple things that you yourselves can take care of such as throwing litter carelessly. Take care of your environment because you are the main beneficiaries of it,” he said.
