Church offers COVID-19 isolation facility

By JACKSON MAPAPAYI
The Christian Missions in Many Lands (CMML) in Manyinga has won accolades for offering a building as an isolation centre for treatment of Covid-19 patients.
Manyinga District Commissioner (DC), Queen Manale, said the offer had come at the right time when the district was positioning itself in combating the disease.
Ms Manela said the fight against the pandemic should not be left to Government alone but that it needed concerted efforts.
The DC said this when she led a team of district epidemic preparedness committee members in inspecting the facility on Saturday.
“That is why as district administration, we want to commend CMML just like other stakeholders for coming on board in the fight against the pandemic,” she said.
Ms Manela stated that Government had resolved to work with the Church and other stakeholders in attaining socio-economic development in the nation.
She said even when Manyinga had not recorded any Covid-19 case, authorities resolved that it was safer to put preventive measures in place well in advance.
