RUBIS Energy has launched its operations in Zambia following the recent successful acquisition of Kobil and Samfuel.
Kobil Zambia fuel outlets will henceforth be known as Rubis Energy Zambia following a move to rebrand outlets across the country.
Rubis Energie is part of a French firm with specialized operations in the storage, distribution and sale of petroleum, liquefied petroleum gas, and chemical products.
Speaking during the launch in Lusaka on Wednesday, Rubis Energy Zambia Managing Director Vincent Fleury said Zambians could finally access quality petroleum products and services from every corner of the country.
Mr Fleury said: “this energy is unleashing new frontiers through the rebrand, and creating new opportunities for Zambians to succeed. The launch follows the successful acquisition of Kobil and Samfuel, deepening our presence in Zambia and strengthening our share of the Petroleum sector, with 40 service stations across the country.”
The Managing Director said Rubis’ vision for Zambia was to become the preferred brand of customers by providing quality products and services with convenience and efficiency while focusing on safety and environment.
He said it is was company’s intent to expand its footprint and to invest heavily in the market through leases, land purchase, acquisitions and modernization of retail outlets into state-of-the-art service stations.
Mr Fleury urged customers that the launch of Rubis was the first step in its pipeline of activities aimed at meeting their needs for mobility with high quality fuel and lubricants, and also cooking with our LPG K-gas brand through our service stations.
Meanwhile, Permanent secretary in the ministry of energy Daniel Chisenda who graced the launch thanked Rubis Energy for investing in the energy sector in Zambia.
Mr Chisenda who was represented by the director of energy at the ministry, Ms Mandona Miyova urged other energy companies to emulate Rubis by setting up their business in Zambia.
He said the Zambian government will always provide a suitable environment to do energy business in the country.
