Fourth Republican President Mr Rupiah Bwezani Banda is expected in Kenya where he has been invited to deliver the keynote speech at an international conference in preparation for Kenya’s Presidential and Parliamentary elections due in two months’ time.

In a statement issued by his administrative assistant Mikatazo Wakumelo, the two-day conference had been organised by the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa in partnership with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, and the Kenyatta University School of Law.

And this is the second time the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa was working with President Banda, having first appointed him leader of the election observer mission to the National Assembly elections in Lesotho last year.

Titled ‘Elections March 2013: Imminent debates in the event of a Presidential run-off’, the conference will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nairobi beginning (today )14th January, 2013 and will feature several prominent speakers including the Speaker of the Kenyan National Assembly.

Mr Wakumelo said Mr Banda is accompanied to Nairobi by his deputy administrative assistant Kennedy Limwanya and economist Dr Richard Chembe.
