COPPERBELT permanent secretary Bright Nundwe has warned civil servants against practising politics.

Addressing the civil servants at Kitwe civic centre, Mr Nundwe said government workers should not risk losing their jobs over politics.

“Civil servants should leave politics for politicians and that is why we have MPs, mayors around. You went to university for years to get your job, you can’t afford to lose it because of politics. If you want to practice politics do it in your bedroom with your wife or husband,” Mr. Nundwe said.

The recently appointed permanent secretary called for order and sanity to restore Copperbelt’s reputation.

Mr Nundwe said the province must not be known for copper thieves, commonly known as Jerabos, the black mountain, or any other illegal activity.

He said Copperbelt was the PF government’s main focus and a lot of resources had been spent on the province, which could not afford to operate in the midst of confusion.

Mr. Numdwe said the region should be identified with good things and those addicted to illegalities must stop.

He added that Copperbelt province must have good land administration.

Mr. Nundwe also directed the civil servants to stop spending time on social media and desist from posting government affairs on such platforms.

He said he enjoyed working with people but if pushed, heads would roll.

Mr. Nundwe said there must be unity in the province adding that all government workers must respect the hierarchy and not fight or envy each other.
