With the increased support for Zambian music from local radio stations, the industry is becoming competitive such that no town wants to lag behind. From Ndola, we came Pilato plus many hitmakers and now, the town is set for a new dancehall dual dubbed ‘Ababombola’.

The pair is comprised of Fred Silwamba and Derrick Mwanza riding on the slogan, ‘Abakontolola’. They got into music way back but made impact in 2010 after they released ‘Motoka’ featuring Ndola’s finest Pilato. This gave them an opportunity to interact with Copperbelt’s top producers including Draf X who produced ‘Chonzuna’ for them.

They also worked with Cream Dollar, Sam Kuli, Mass Records and Chris from Congo. It was at this stage they produced a hit single ‘Chi Dance’ a Zambia-Congo combination that made great impression on the Copperbelt.

They later crossed towns and now working with Lusaka-based producers from Cabin Studios. They have two great songs ‘Handover’ and ‘I try’ which are currently on Sun FM Zed Urban show. The dual now working with QkingSuli’s Tekembo Media is looking forward to more collaborations to register a permanent mark on the music scene.
