IT is unacceptable for Nkana Patriotic Front (PF) member of Parliament Alexander Chiteme to insinuate that the black mountain was sold by MMD and that is why people cannot benefit from it, MMD National Youth Coordinator Gerald Chiluba has said.

Mr Chiluba said Mr Chiteme should be seen helping to find a solution as a leader than pointing fingers. “As MMD die hard youth wing we find it unacceptable for Hon. Chiteme to insinuate that the black mountain was sold by MMD and that is why people cannot benefit from it,” he said.

Mr Chiluba said Mr Chiteme was simply running away from responsibilities.

“What Hon. Chiteme should focus on is to find solutions to the problems that surround the black mountain than pointing fingers at who did this and that.

“We believe that people voted for him to provide answers to their problems not to remind them of who sold the black mountain,” he said.

Mr Chiluba said if indeed a mistake was made in the past let him (Chiteme) propose measures of repossession of the black mountain so people could benefit like it was the case with Zamtel which was sold and later repossessed in the interest of Zambians.

He urged the Nkana lawmaker not to wash his hands off from the black mountain but rather work in consultation and in line with President Edgar Lungu’s vision of restoring the black mountain to the original owners who are Zambians.

“We very hopeful that the promise by the republican president shall come to pass in the soonest possible time,” Mr Chiluba said.
