HAKAINDE Hichilema is too arrogant to reform even after spending over 100 days in prison as evidenced from the way he has been speaking since his release from incarceration, 3rd Liberation Movement (3rd LM) president, Enoch Tonga has charged.

Mr Tonga said that the UPND leader was too stubborn and that he was resistant to reformation.

He reiterated that even his pronouncements when he was in incarceration that he held no grudge against anyone were all deceitful.

Mr Tonga said in an interview with the Daily Nation that Mr Hichilema was too arrogant to reform even after spending over 100 days in prison.

He noted that the UPND leader had been undermining government efforts to improve the living conditions of the people since his release.

Mr Tonga charged that Mr Hichilema could never reform because he was too desperate for the presidency.

“The man cannot reform, he is way too arrogant to repent. He is just lying that he holds no grudge because anyone can see that he is a bitter man. The man has just being undermining government efforts, busy lying that our prisons are a death trap, when we can all see the efforts being made in improving the conditions,” he said.

Mr Tonga warned that Mr Hichilema’s stubbornness would destroy him as he was too desperate for the presidency.

He emphasised that the UPND president had failed to show leadership and provide guidance to his subordinates.

Meanwhile, Mr Tonga charged that Mr Hichilema was selfish because he wanted all things to be done in his interest, at the expense of the Zambian people.

He pointed out that what was paramount to the UPND leader was to become the republican president and that he did not care about anything else.

Mr Tonga wondered whether Mr Hichilema could govern the country peacefully with the level of desperation he had been exhibiting.
