Foul-mouthed Kambwili given a dressing down

ROAN Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili was on Thursday night grilled on social media soon after his post in which he defended dismissed Minister of National Development and Planning Lucky Mulusa and chastened presidential aide Amos Chanda, whom he described as a briefcase carrier.

Mr. Kambwili alleged that Mr. Mulusa’s dismissal was inevitable because President Edgar Lungu did not want to be challenged and demonised Mr. Chanda whom he bragged had helped to find a job after pretending to be a humble person who acted as his briefcase carrier in the United Kingdom.

“On the firing of Hon Lucky Mulusa, my comment is that this was inevitable because President Lungu does not like to be taken on. He does not like to be told he is wrong or that he is corrupt. President Lungu was told by Mulusa point blank that those fire engines stunk of corruption and could only be likened to wheelbarrows.

“When I was minister, Amos Chanda used to carry my luggage and open the door for me as I enter the commissioner’s car back in the UK. Amos was the most humble employee at the mission in London and this prompted me to put in a good word for him when President Lungu took office in 2015. Alas! Look at Amos today! Amos the suitcase carrier can call it a tragedy that I was minister all because he is stealing with the President,” Mr. Kambili wrote.

But a barrage of insults and some unprintables which soared to over 200 comments within an hour followed his post with most of them describing him as a hypocritical and arrogant person who took pride in demonising others.

The following comments, among many followed his post:

Brian Mutembo Kapufi:  Bob Marley sang, “Before you point your fingers, make sure your hands are clean.” So ba CK are you clean yourself? You may pretend to your followers today but one day your past deeds will be laid bare.

Mulenga Kaps: Now this is why I say Kambwili is so useless and foolish and thinks every Zambian is like him. Was it not Kambwili who was fighting people like Mulusa as MMD from Rupiah Banda?

Francis Malama: You should have stuck with corruption and firing of Mulusa. Getting personal with Amos Chanda is childish. While you are at it, I would suggest you lay out your plan for the country.

Tilimbike Eliphas: Zulu Kambwili lacks maturity. His long statement is hollow and lacks substance. When is CK going to give us his party’s manifesto? When is he going to give us his party’s agenda for Zambia? He’s beginning to sound like a broken record.

Lee Steers: Just when I thought I was sensing some newly found maturity and respect in you… there you go again! Please, this should never be the way people who aspire to lead a country be allowed to debate. Small-minded people discuss people.

Sekeli Lubinda: Kambwili can be the worst arrogant leader. We saw it when he was minister and we can’t risk. We are better off with Lungu or even Lusambo or Nathan Chanda. Kambwili whatever you see in others, with you it’s to the power 100.

Nshipa Mukula: Imwe ba Kambwili mwalelyafye tondolo. Ba Mulusa balelanda. I have a lot of respect for Mr. Mulusa. You, you talk out of frustration. If you had not been fired, you would have remained quiet. Shame!

Lloyd Ngulube: Is this the politics we will be hearing day in day out? Very immature I must say… Best is tell the Zambians what you will do if given a chance to be president.

Sydney Ngulube: Tells us what you want to do for the country that you couldn’t do in six years as a minister. What do you have in your head apart from name calling and filth smearing? This post has exposed the potholes in your brain.
