Solomon Plate working on new album
By Lifestyle Reporter
Gospel musician Solomon Moyo known professionally as Solomon Plate has recruited an East African artiste alongside a few other contemporary Zambian names for his sophomore album titled ‘Over and Over’.
The artiste has unleashed a 14-track album containing features ranging from Levixone from Uganda in addition to local acts such as songstress Esther Chungu, the multi-talented Mag 44 and legendary gospel giant Ephraim.
The album which has been under construction for the past four years has been released under Solomon Plate’s own record label Dominion Sound.
Despite releasing the project under his own record company, the artiste has still recruited 44 Drums boss Mag 44 to be the Executive Producer of the new body of work.
Moyo described the project as a crossover album, perfectly poised for different listeners due to its nature of having multiple genres.
“Afro-fusion is how I would describe the genre on this project. The album has a mixture of genres ranging from Afro-beat, Zamrock and hip-hop,” he stated.
The ‘Cibe’ artiste said the album was inspired by personal battles and triumphs.
Moyo said the past four years have represented challenging moments but the artiste survived the tough times and emerged victorious, an experience he channeled into the music during the creative process of the album.
He cited Psalm 23 from the Bible, likening his life lessons to events that were described in the scriptural passage.
“The album is based off Psalm 23. ‘Over and Over’ basically means my cup runneth over. I’ve experienced Psalm 23 in these last four years. From walking through the valley to sitting at the table in front of my enemies,” he said.
‘Over and Over’ which was released on Thursday is now available on all major streaming platforms.
