263 illegal immigrants rounded up, deported

THE Department of Immigration has deported 263 individuals back to their countries of origin in a bold move to curb illegal immigration in the country.

The mass removal of illegal immigrants is part of a broader effort to address the growing concern of illegal immigration in Zambia.

According to a statement from the Immigration Department, the deportees were apprehended during a joint clean-up operation conducted in various parts of Lusaka on September 4.

The operation resulted in the detention of 357 individuals for various immigration offenses.
