Catholic priest slams UPND over broken promises

A CATHOLIC priest, Fr. Justine Kapisha Katai of St. Leo the Great, Kapatu Mission, has criticised the UPND government for failing to fulfill promises made to the people, particularly on a power project initiated by the Patriotic Front (PF) in Kasama.

Fr. Katai has accused the ruling party of misleading the public by claiming they would complete projects started by their predecessors.

Speaking during a celebration marking his 25th anniversary at the mission, Fr. Katai expressed frustration with the stalled power project.

“Our cries have never been heard, and we don’t know if they ever will be. Right where I am standing, I hear that electricity has reached just short of a kilometre from here. This project, which started under your predecessor, remains stagnant.
