HARRY Kalaba has petitioned President Hakainde Hichilema to declare the nearly 24-hour power cuts as a national disaster to enable his administration mop up resources to buy alternative and affordable solar energies.
Mr Kalaba, the Citizens First (CF) president says the head of State should use his flagship project, the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), to procure solar and wind energies and make them easily accessible to Zambians as an alternative source of energy.
“As President Hichilema addresses Parliament this Friday, we are asking him to take this opportunity to declare the power deficit in the country as a national disaster.
