THE Generation Z (Gen-Z) have strongly condemned the rapidly emerging political oppression in Zambia and have called on the Human Rights Commission (HRC) to censure President Hakainde Hichilema for having reneged on his campaign promise of governing the country by the rule of law and respect for human rights and freedoms.
The Gen-Z have charged that the inaction and silence by HRC in the arrest, and detention of activists Jason Mwanza, Thomas Zulu and Chanda Chikwanka is a sign that it is complicit in the violation of citizens’ fundamental freedoms.
