Lubambe mines victims seek over K8m compensation

FOUR workers who sustained permanent incapacitating injuries in an accident at Lubambe Mine have sued Reliant Mining and Construction Limited in the Lusaka High Court, each demanding over K2 million in compensation.

The plaintiffs, Mr. Tantu Simbaya, Mr. Kelvin Kaunda, Mr. James Zimba, and Mr. Jonas Chibale, were involved in an industrial accident on April 19, 2024, while working as employees of Reliant Mining, a contractor for Lubambe Mine.

Their contracts of employment was terminated on August 16, 2024.
