Zambia, DRC, Zimbabwe account for 85.7pc of cholera outbreaks – AFRO Report

SINCE the beginning of this year, the number of cholera cases reported by World Health Organisation (WHO) regional office for Africa as of June 30 was 104, 038 and 1, 732 respectively, with a case fatality ratio of 1.7 percent, it has been revealed.
According to the AFRO monthly bulletin for July, 2024 issue, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Zambia, and Zimbabwe account for 85.7 percent (89, 208) of the total cases and 91.2 percent (1, 580) of total deaths reported by June 30, 2024.
