‘Judges hold emergency meeting’

JUDGES in Lusaka yesterday reportedly held an emergency meeting following the crisis that has rocked the Judiciary after President Hakainde Hichilema suspended three Constitutional Court Judges, who in 2016 were among the panel of Judges that dismissed a petition in which the head of State was challenging the electoral victory of former President Edgar Lungu.
And reports are to the effect that the Commonwealth Magistrates and Judges Association (CMJA) was, by yesterday on its way to Lusaka, after international media reported that President Hichilema had at once, suspended three Constitutional Court Judges.
Sources have told the Daily Nation that a number of cases at High Court, Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court were adjourned because the Judges were locked up in a meeting in which they were reportedly discussing their predicament after realizing than none of them was safe from CLICK HERE TO READ MORE
