OPPOSITION SHOULD PREPARE PETITION – PF

BY ADRIAN MWANZA

THE ruling Patriotic Front (PF) has rubbished and dispelled claims that they have engaged lawyers to challenge presidential election results if the Opposition UPND leader wins the elections August 12 polls and instead advised UPND do so because they are facing a huge loss.

PF Media director Antonio Mwanza said yesterday the Patriotic Front are winning and see no reason to plan for a loss which belongs to the opposition UPND.

Mr Mwanza said the story attributed to the PF general secretary Davis Mwila that eight lawyers had been assembled to challenge the Presidential Election Results should ECZ declare UPND President Hakainde Hichilema winner of the 12th August 2021 Elections was fake and be treated with the contempt it deserved.

Mr Mwanza said HH and UPND had been reduced to their original shell of Southern Province after PF had penetrated into Western Province and North-Western Provinces. Mr Mwanza said HH could not win because he had no numbers since PF had mobilized and registered more voters in all our strongholds while UPND had seen the number of registered voters in their perceived strong holds shrink.

‘’UPND has no message they are just waiting for something bad to happen to the country then they use that against PF and today, the UPND have abandoned their Jamaican manifesto and they are now hanging on to the issue of the cost of living to win the elections,’’ Mr Mwanza said.

Mr Mwanza challenged the opposition to mention a country where the cost of living and prices of commodities had gone down. He said the reports of the UN organisation on food and agriculture and the World Bank had continued to indicate that the prices of food and other commodities had gone up world over.

‘’There is no elections HH can win, the PF will retire him on 12 August, and our advice is that the UPND must with immediate effect start preparing the petition because they only have 14 days for the petition to be heard,’’ he said.
